Answers to some of the commonly asked questions about NAFLIC membership
Why should I register with NAFLIC?
NAFLIC exists to represent the interests of inspectors, to promote safety in the industry and is the technical arm of the industry.
NAFLIC provides periodic seminars and courses to update inspectors on specific fields of inspection.
It issues bulletins to make its members aware of safety issues that have been identified by other inspectors.
It produces technical documents with advice on such issues as design and inspection.
What help is NAFLIC going to give me?
If you have problem that you cannot resolve, NAFLIC members are always available to give advice.
If you should be unfortunate enough to have a serious incident, NAFLIC will provide help and advice so far as is practically possible.
Is NAFLIC relevant to what I do?
Probably. If you are ADIPS registered then there is almost certainly someone somewhere in NAFLIC that is familiar with the work you do. The great benefit of NAFLIC membership is that you have access to approximately 30 members, some of whom have 40 years’ experience in this industry.
Why does NAFLIC want me to join?
NAFLIC needs your input. We want to know what problems you face, what types of device you inspect and what your main concerns are. We would like you to come to the AGM and there are often vacancies for members on sub-committees. We need a cross section of interests on those committees so that they truly represent the industry’s opinion. We may ask you if you would like to be involved in assisting with sub-committees writing new codes of practice or guidance.
Remember, NAFLIC is probably your only route to ADSC and ADIPS and the only way to have an input into the industry’s organisation and standards.
Membership of NAFLIC may not only be of benefit to you but to others involved in your area of the industry.
NAFLIC’s Constitution requires its members to complete an application form for membership and we need records of our members. Please take a few minutes to complete the attached form in MS Word format or PDF format and return it to Daniel Cox at 100, Birchfield Road, Widnes, Cheshire, WA8 7TE.
